Dr Vicky Gorton is a Lecturer in Data and Society at the University of Edinburgh and an Honorary Associate for the Crime and Justice research programme (formerly Safer Communities). Vicky previously worked with Professor Susan McVie on the ‘Policing the Pandemic’ project, exploring the role of police enforcement in Scotland during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vicky has research interests in the learning-teaching of quantitative methods in the social sciences and the role of data (in all its forms) in decision making
