Zhiqiang conducts research in under the centre's health, mental health and social care research programme and leads training in use of linked administrative data for social and health research.

He is a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Edinburgh and his research interests include population and health geography, health inequalities, GIS and spatial analysis.
